La Clinica has had some recent changes in the past few months. We’ve welcomed on Sarah Wimmer as a new Case Worker as well as Linda Rojas to fill the position of Receptionist/Medical Assistant. We also participated in a blood drive/mini health fair back in April. Thank you to all who participated and volunteered. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Our staff has changed quite a bit in the past few months. As we said goodbye to two employees we also welcomed on Jaclyn Noroño-Leon. She is our new Case Manager/Volunteer Coordinator. Also, La Clinica has a new newsletter that in conjunction with The Institute for Family Medicine will be mailed out over the next few days.

La clinica has undergone quite a few staff changes this month. First, we’d like to welcome our new Manager of Clinical Operations, Amanda Maust. Amanda earned a BSN from Eastern Menonite University and worked last year as the head nurse for Edgewood Childrens Home. She joined our team a little over a month ago and has hit the ground running. We’re very thankful to have her with us. Also, we have welcomed on board our new Volunteer Coordinator, Melissa Friedman. She is junior at Washington University working towards a BA in Latin Studies and Women Studies. We couldn’t be happier to finally have someone working specifically with our volunteers.

Our participation in the Hispanic Festival was a success. We supplied a first aid stand for the festival and allowed people to receive information about our organization and services. Thank you to all who participated. We will be getting involved with the Festival of Nations that the International Institute puts on the 25th and 26th of August as well. We look forwad to that. We also just found out that Oktoberfest, a popular German festival in Soulard, would like us to provide a first aid stand for them. If you are a volunteer and are interested in getting involved with either of these opportunities please contact Becca Castaneda at 314-664-5565 ex. 104.

La Clinica is very excited about getting involved in the Latin community here in St. Louis. August 10,11 and 12 is St. Louis’ annual Hispanic Festival held down town at 14th st. and Market. This year La Clinica is proud to take part by making a First Aid stand available to all festival goers. We will be tending to basic first aid related needs and providing information about our clinic. Be sure to come out for all the fun and visit us at our tent.

We’ve recently had our waiting room repainted. A volunteer group from Greentree Community Church came on Saturday, June 9th. They spent the entire day painting our large waiting room. The color they chose seems to have really brightened up the room and has been said to make our patients feel more comfortable and welcomed. Thank you Greentree Group! We really appreciate their work and are gratefull for the possitive change to our clinic.
